Year 1963

Designer Ed Anderson shaped the Rambler Classic that was named Motor Trend magazine's 1963 Car of the Year. The Rambler featured a 112-inch-wheelbase and the first unibody platform giving it a low silhouette, rounded flanks, curved door glass and less weight.

1963 Studebaker Avanti

Studebaker's 1963 Avanti emphasized safety with seatbelts available, safety door latches and roll-over protection bar. Raymond Loewy was the lead designer. It had a V8 which produced 240 horsepower in a car the size of a Ford Mustang.
